A new challenge

My new job puts me on a steep and treacherous learning curve. Grasping at concepts tangential to my way of thinking, presented in a techno jargon unintelligble at first and second reading. There is so much of it I need to learn before I can deliver each assignment. Having being in charge for many years, to now be back in kindergarten is very strange. With kids half my age who were weaned on computers. They navigate with ease on the fast lane. They talk the talk and walk the walk. It's a struggle to keep pace.

New Year resolutions

Like most people I will probably never see my resolutions through to the end of the year, let alone the end of the week. I still intend to make them. Starting 8 days into the new year the prospect of success appears remote. Oh well, there will at least be a written record and a constant reminder of how big a loser I am. So here goes - my resolutions for 2007.

1) Get to the gym and/or up to the mountains 3 times a week.

2) Eat healthy. Shop more often and prepare health snacks to take to the office.

3) Start music lessons.

4) Sign up with the meditation group and attend regular sessions.

5) Chill out and de-stress each day.
